Day 1

I'm not really sure how to start this. My name is William, and I'm completing my master's in Structural Engineering. (In the future, I'm planning to do a PhD and another master's in robotics.) Recently, I've gotten very interested in AI, robotics, and electronics in general, so I decided to start writing to share my progress and to keep myself accountable.

One of my first projects used a breadboard and an LED: I was just trying to make the LED light up with an Arduino starter kit. A friend of mine was working on his diploma project, using servos and OpenCV for motion tracking, so I integrated that to control my LED with motion, which was pretty cool.

I started taking a free circuits course on engineer4free.com (honestly, one of the best free learning tools for engineers), and I started building my very first small robot, COBOT. I tested everything on a breadboard first, then learned to solder and connect things together. COBOT is still a work in progress, but I'm pretty proud of how far I've gotten with it. I'll keep you updated.

My most recent learning project, let's say, is working with an ESP32, a touch sensor, and a display. I was able to build a small weather tracking app. Next, I'm planning to model a case for it in FreeCAD and put everything together.

If you got this far, thanks for reading! Feel free to contact me and let's talk. I'm open to ideas and suggestions.

Keep imagining.
